The Rocky Mountain Affiliate was founded in 2003 to serve women and men in Colorado whose worlds have turned upside down because of breast cancer. It offers support groups for individuals touched by breast cancer throughout Colorado including the Denver metro area, Fort Collins, Boulder, Longmont, and Colorado Springs. In 2007, more than 2,000 individuals and their families benefited from Y-ME Rocky Mountain Affiliate’s programs and services. Y-ME plans to expand their services to include other communities throughout Colorado in the coming year.
The funds raised for the Walk to Empower help Y-ME continue to provide essential programs and services today for those who can’t wait for tomorrow’s cure. Y-ME Rocky Mountain Affiliate provides support groups, breast health awareness workshops, Open Door educational programs, outreach, wigs and prostheses for women and men with limited resources, and advocacy.
